Why choose diploma over intermediate 

Basically I myself did diploma and now I'm doing engineering . After coming to engineering I met people who did intermediate and joined engineering , this doesn't any thing to do with you if you are aiming for iit and nit but if are not aiming that high continue reading . 

Diploma is better than intermediate when you are aiming for engineering . Intermediate is best when you are aiming for iit's or nit's , but iits are for 1% , as the acceptance rate of iit is 1% . But when you are aiming for eamcet or just want to complete engineering  then you should go with diploma . 

Cost : diploma cost less than intermediate , I don't know exact prices but my friend who studied intermediate paid 75,000 in her first year , and I studied in govt polytechnic college my fees was 3800 , but in private diploma colleges on an average its 15,000 . So it's good according to cost wise  .

Subject : intermediate teaches maths , physics,  chemistry, as its basic subjects and then there is languages like French and sanskrit which god knows where to use . In diploma the basic subjects are maths , physics , chemistry and electronics , which are crucial and help you when you get into engineering . 

Certificate value & placements : certificate value means will you be able to get a job with this certificate and placement means actually getting a job in campus selections . Intermediate certificate has less value compared to diploma , there are jobs you can get with intermediate certificate but there are very less , where as with diploma certificate you can do almost any job . Diploma has placements well according to your specalisation and intermediate does not have placements at all
